Associate Director/Director in Translational Immunology

Jnana Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on modulating cellular metabolism by opening the solute carrier (SLC) family of metabolite transporters as a target class to develop transformational therapeutics. Jnana uses RAPID, its proprietary, cell-based drug discovery platform to systematically target SLC transporters and develop best-in-class therapies to treat a wide range of diseases, including immune-mediated, neurological and metabolite-dependent diseases. Headquartered in Boston, Jnana is founded by world-renowned scientists and backed by leading life science investors. For more information, please visit and follow us on Twitter and on LinkedIn.

Jnana Therapeutics is seeking an accomplished cellular immunologist to help advance internal and partnered programs, identified by our in vitro target discovery platform, through in vivo proof of concept and early translational development. An ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of human inflammatory/auto-immune disease pathogenesis as well as the landscape of current and investigational therapeutics. Expertise in rodent models of inflammatory disease and an ability to coordinate with collaborators on their validation and execution is essential. Providing guidance to project teams in designing efficacy studies, evaluating potential biomarkers and selecting patients for clinical studies is critical. A strong understanding of in vitro pharmacology assays and analysis is preferred. At Jnana, we are committed to team and mission, so we seek out leaders who have a track record of dedication, curiosity, and productive collaboration.

  • Serve as an integral member of the immunology team, focused on translating target validation studies into drug discovery programs.
  • Design and execution of in vivo pharmacology experiments to validate novel targets and their MOAs.
  • Collaborate with discovery biology and help align their goals with later development strategy and activities.
  • Formulate biomarker and patient selection strategy across multiple projects.
  • Interface with partner organizations to communicate results and set strategy.
  • Maintain expertise of the scientific literature and apply target biology insights across drug discovery programs.
